BM Radio

The BM Report strikes again! First, we made the Bowlers Journal International. Now, we have been featured on the Blogs with Balls radio show. These guys had some nice things to say about us. Listen here:

But I don't recall making any Lebowski references. Maybe I used a pic or two. No doubt, we will next be featured in a cover story in Cosmo.

  1. Todd, you're nationwide, man! Are we even worthy to comment here anymore? :)

I think the Lebowski reference is a compliment, that your blog is original and fresh...

Now. Just don't go out and have an affair with a nightclub waitress. Keep your head in (good pun, but not a family-friendly one, brewing here...I'll let it ride) the game!

  2. Please don't stop commenting. You are the only person who actually seems to pay attention. The vast majority of hits I get are hit and runners. By the way, I put the sign in the mail yesterday.

  3. I find it an interesting read...especially since I'm a stats junkie. One of the first sites I visited after my latest bowling outing was this blog. Set personal bests: 278/677 this Tuesday...my new bowling bowl arrived today. Isn't that a bit ironic?

  4. Wow. Nice game and series. Obviously, regarding your stats problem, I have the same affliction. If you don't already have some way of tracking your bowling stats, you should check out our spreadsheet. I give it away for free. You can find it here: http://bowlmovementswy.blogspot.com/2009/09/bowling-scoring-and-statistics.html

  5. Also, I'd like to know how the new ball works out for you. I feel like mine has been a major learning experience.

  6. Nice work! If you're not on the cover of 'Tiger Beat' with the guy from Twilight by this time next year, I'd be surprised. I'll be able to say I knew you back when you were merely an blogging sensation, stats dynamo, and bowling maven.

I'll get you guys to sign my chest next time I'm in town :)

  7. Keep your shirt on, buddy. Heard you might be moving back the Gem City. Is this true?

  8. Kafka SMB cracks me up...

The Tiger Beat cover WOULD be a keeper, though!

  9. I will definitely check out the spreadsheet...I intend to begin tracking some things coming this week. Firmly cementing myself as the 2nd biggest geek in the league...we have one gentleman who brings at least 8 balls with him to league who would have to have that distinct honor.

  10. 8 balls? I don't get it, you can only throw 1 at a time, right? Real men only have 1 ball (OK, maybe 2).
    Great publicity by the way.

  11. That's the hope- if my better half decides to go back to grad school, I'll be transferring to the office in L-Town. I'll keep you posted, as I'd be thrilled to get Scotch Appreciation Night going again :)

  12. I understand the concept of bringing more balls to the alley. Ideally, you would have them drilled a little differently to produce different reactions, breakpoints, and possibly a 2nd ball to deliver for straight spares.

This will be the first time that I will have 2 viable options and I may relegate my 16lb Ebonite Magnum Urethane to spare ball. My progression: 10lb plastic Lucky Strike, 14lb Columbia Black Knight, Magnum, 15lb Brunswick Fury Pearl.

I am primarily looking for the Fury Pearl to increase my Strike % by being a little more thunderous and producing better carry. I probably won't have it drilled for this week so I may have to wait to post on it.

Considering that bowlingball.com's perfect scale for hook lists my old ball at a 25 and new one at a 217.3. I am expecting big things...especially since my current ball has the old pancake-style weight block.

  13. That's very similar to the change I just made, and I am just starting to figure out my new Brunswick. I'm about 100 games in now. As for eight balls, if you are really good, I can see the advantage. I can't see it really helping me at this point.

When I got my new ball, I also bought a two ball bag. Because I got tired of lugging around 30 lbs in bowling equipment, I soon went back to the single. Eight balls. Let's see... average weight of 15 lbs. That's 120 lbs of bowling balls. I hope he has about eight lockers at the lanes.

  14. He makes extra trips...he is a very small man. I probably will go with the 2 ball bag...eventually. For now, I'll just herc the 2nd ball.
